Round bale grabs

Round bale grabs fit front-end loaders, tractors and wheel loaders to handle round and square bales of hay and straw. Typically used in agriculture, these grabs are marketed in a wide variety of sizes and designs, differing primarily in the design of the jaws, which are manufactured from multi-section or single-section tube or plates. While the jaws on round bale grabs are curved to pick up round bales, square bale grabs feature straight jaws to handle square bales. Both the round bale grabs and traditional bale handlers are curved and smooth to effectively prevent damage to the wrapping film.

Damage to the film wrap would lead to spoilage due to air ingress and moulding, which certainly must be avoided to ensure proper fermentation. Round bale grabs are powered by a hydraulic ram, which opens the jaws to embrace the bale and then closes them to grip, lift and transport the bale to the trailer or stack.
