Beastly good

The Weidemann machines are completely in their element at the zoo – after all, they have been successfully used for decades in traditional agriculture within animal husbandry. Feeding work, mucking out, transport and lifting work as well as maintenance work, all of this is taken care of perfectly daily with different attachments.

Compact design, low turning radii and powerful performance – these properties characterise the Weidemann machines and have made them into an indispensable part of modern animal care. These qualities are also required at zoos: narrow paths on which feed and materials need to be transported, which are also used by visitors, narrow buildings with low storage capacities for feed and materials – Weidemann provides you with the perfect solutions for this.

Innovative, electric, emission-free

Weidemann has something special in the product range for your applications: the 1160 eHoftrac, a 100% electrically operated machine, which you can use to work emission-free on site. This is particularly useful for indoor use, because your employees and the valuable animal population are not exposed to any exhaust gases. In addition, the machine works with reduced noise, which benefits your visitors.

Activities and applications in the zoo

Discover the possibilities with some examples.

  • Transport work

Transporting various goods and materials is one of the most frequent activities that the Weidemann machine helps you with. Attachments, such as pallet forks or various buckets, are used in the process. Physically strenuous manual labour is easily mechanised and you benefit from significant time savings.

  • Stacking work

Weidemann machines are not only very powerful, but they also offer considerable lifting height, depending on the model. For example, they make it possible to stack square bales on top of each other to save space and to remove them again safely. This is crucial when storage capacities are limited.

  • Feed management

Large animals also need a lot of food. It is ideal to use a Weidemann machine with attachments, such as a grab bucket, fork and grab or various bale forks, to effectively take care of the feed handling. The narrow paths on your property are perfect for a Weidemann.

  • Cleaning

Weidemann machines can be equipped with various sweeping machines, weed brooms, high-pressure cleaners or sweepers for various cleaning work. In this way, you keep your zoo clean and always give visitors a positive image.

  • Mucking out enclosures

Keeping the animal enclosures clean is one of the daily tasks at any zoo. Considerable amounts of manure and droppings accumulate depending on the size and type of animals. The Weidemann machine also offers powerful support here and takes care of the heavy lifting so that it does not all have to be done with a wheelbarrow.

  • Elephant house

There is a lot to do in the elephant house: large amounts of food or toys, such as tree trunks and tyres, have to be moved. Mucking out and keeping the enclosures clean is also a daily task. The sand has to be loosened up or pushed together into heaps. A Weidemann machine with the right attachment is ideal for this tough work.

  • Plot maintenance

There are green areas at every zoo, which must be mowed regularly. The Weidemann machine combined with a rotary mower, mulcher or a flail mower with collecting tray is recommended here. A pruning saw, rear trimmers or double-knife mower are also available here for trimming hedges, bushes and trees.

  • Winter service

Weidemann machines can be equipped with various snow blades and rear spreaders, depending on the model. This gives you valuable support in winter service to keep the grounds free of snow and ice.

  • Emission-free work

The 1160 eHoftrac is in its zone here: the battery-operated machine eliminates exhaust fumes and noise from your everyday work. One battery charge lasts for a work application of 2 to 5 hours, depending on the application conditions. Interim charges are possible at all times. The battery charger sits behind the battery directly in the machine.
